Beautiful and extremely rare large vase in white porcelain with abstracted cobalt blue bird / peacock and flowers, produced by the German quality porcelain company Rosenthal. The special vase was designed by Bjorn Wiinblad for the Studio-Linie series by Rosenthal. Period: 1970s. Size: height 44cm x diameter 16.5cm. The vase is in excellent condition, no cracks or chips etc., and marked on the bottom: Rosenthal, Studio-linie, Germany, with signature of Bjorn Wiinblad in the decor. Bjørn Wiinblad (September 20, 1919 – June 8, 2006) was a Danish painter, designer and artist in ceramics, silver, bronze, textiles and printmaking, and an important designer for the Rosenthal porcelain company. His work has been widely shown in Europe, the US, Japan, Australia and Canada. Wiinblad was named Man of the Year in New York in 1985 and received the American-Scandinavian Foundation's Cultural Prize in 1995.
