Pair of White Bisque Porcelain Vases by Rosemonde Nairac for Rosenthal Studio-Line, Germany (1970s–1980s)
An exceptional pairing of sculptural porcelain vases by French designer Rosemonde Nairac for the acclaimed Rosenthal Studio-Line, both showcasing her distinctive flair for rhythmic surface relief and modern organic form.
The taller vase (model “Yukatan”, 3555/24) was designed in 1972 and produced from 1973 into the mid-1980s. Its structured, architectural contours evoke stylised foliage or waves, wrapping around the organically shaped rim in a continuous visual rhythm.
The smaller vase, bearing a 1985 Rosenthal Studio-Line stamp, presents a subtly fluted oval silhouette, crowned with a scalloped lip and adorned with a geometric floral motif in bas-relief—almost coral-like in texture.
Both vessels are made of finest matt white bisque porcelain, with an almost paper-like delicacy that reveals their refined casting. Their interplay of light and shadow, minimalism and ornamentation, makes them perfect for collectors of modernist ceramics and fans of Brutalist or Op Art aesthetics.
