How do I sell an item on Whoppah?

What can I sell on Whoppah?

You can sell a wide range of interior items on Whoppah, including furniture and decoration from affordable to high-end design pieces. Items must be in at least good condition and cost at least 25 euros.

How can I list an item for sale?

To sell on Whoppah:

1. Think of a title (for example 1 x wooden table)

2. Take 5 photos of your item from different angles and upload them

3. Indicate how many pieces it concerns (for example 4 chairs if it concerns a set)

4. Describe the item (for example "Brand: Jori Model: Yoga Color: Yellow Condition: Good condition Now for: €250,- Dimensions Armchairs: Width: 80cm Depth: 85cm Height: 110cm Seat height: 36cm Seat depth: 45cm This Jori armchair is a fixer-upper! The leather is still in good condition, but the adjustment lever does not work properly."

5. Fill in the following information:

• Category
• Brand
• Colour
• Material
• Dimensions
• Condition of the item
• Additional information

6. Set your price

7. Indicate the delivery method and/or whether the item can be collected from you

8. Submit your ad

Your ad will be online within minutes. For carefully selected design items, this will be within 2 days.

Payment of sales proceeds

Item sold and buyer has indicated to have received the item in good order? Then the payment is initiated. Before the payout of the sale can proceed, you need a profile at Stripe. Check your payment details in your Whoppah account so that the payout is quickly in your account. We will then automatically create a Stripe Connect profile for you.

Are there any costs associated with the sale?

- Creating and placing an advertisement is free

- Private sellers pay a sales commission of 12.5% **

- Business sellers pay a 16% commission (excluding 21% VAT) on items sold

**   If you placed an advertisement between December 18, 2024 and January 15, 2025, the sales commission will not be deducted from your sale.

For ads created before December 18, 2024, a sales commission of 12.5% or 5% will apply. This change will not be applied retroactively.

How does the bidding process work?

When you enable bidding, buyers can submit bids. You will be notified via WhatsApp, email and chat. You can accept, reject or counterbid the bid. After acceptance, the buyer has 48 hours to complete the purchase.

How long will my ad stay online?

Your ad will remain online until the item is sold, but you will need to renew it every 2 months. Whoppah will send reminder emails 14 and 7 days before the expiration date.

What happens after I make a sale?

Once a sale is made, both parties are expected to honor the agreement. The buyer must complete payment within 48 hours and you as the seller must set the item aside for that person.

How can I promote my item?

For €7.99 you can promote your ad by placing it at the top of the product overview. This way you increase the visibility.

We now also offer boost packages that you can purchase when creating your ad. These packages include a 2-day, 4-day, or 7-day boost. The boost is applied on each following day after the ad is published.
