This beautiful sculptural coffee table made of tempered glass and aluminum was designed in the 1960s by the German designer Knut Hesterberg for Ronald Schmitt. The table has a very elegant table frame with 4 sculptural columns made of solid aluminum, ground and polished. Knut Hesterberg is a world-famous German sculptor who started his career at the graphic arts and design studio in Zurich, Switzerland. In the late 1960s he designed sculptural table shapes, mainly for Ronald Schmitt Eberbach and to a very limited extent for Bacher Tische in Renningen near Stuttgart, to bring art into people's daily lives. This coffee table is a high-quality aerodynamically shaped coffee table, which will impress in any setting and in any interior. The table is in very nice vintage condition, with some light signs of wear here and there (including two minor damages to the glass plate, see photos).
