Product description

Beautiful vintage coffee table, presumably from the 1970s. The designer and manufacturer are unfortunately unknown, but the table is most likely of Dutch origin. The distinctive design has a subtle Space Age edge, typical of the innovative and experimental furniture designs from this period. This coffee table comes from Noordwijk, where it was acquired directly from the original owners. In our workshop, the solid wengé wooden base has been fully restored. The wood has been carefully sanded, nourished, and refinished with a protective silk-matte finish. This brings out the deep, dark brown color and the particularly pronounced wood grain beautifully. In combination with the original smoked glass top, this creates a warm, characteristic appearance. The glass shows some signs of wear appropriate for its age. The design stands out with its low, wide construction and sculptural, playful form. The large smoked glass top seems to almost float above the base, giving the table a surprisingly airy character despite its size. A nice detail is the removable magazine rack made of braided rope under the glass top. The light braiding forms a beautiful contrast with the dark wengé wood and also offers practical space for magazines and books. A distinctive piece of vintage design from the 1970s, combining a special construction and a beautiful combination of materials. After a thorough restoration, it is ready for years of use.
