For sale is a fully restored original Rio Rosewood Danish Writing Desk with a unique brilliance. Object: Writing desk / writing desk Description: Free-standing desk, front body with 3 drawers with dovetail joints (one lockable) and a lockable body, back 3 open shelves Manufacturer: Danish furniture manufacturer Material: Rio Palisander -> Cites certificate from the German nature conservation authority for trade within the EU is available. (Certificate for commercial activities) Brazilian rosewood is the most sought-after and most expensive type of wood of all types of rosewood. Brazilian rosewood (also Brazilian rosewood) is a type of wood from trees of the genus Dalbergia (Dalbergia) from the subfamily of the legume family. Rosewood has been a highly valued precious wood for centuries. Since 1968 there has been an export ban on logs of this type in Brazil. In 1992 Brazilian rosewood was placed under species protection and in 1998 under stricter species protection. Up to this point, it was in high demand for high-quality designer furniture and executive-level office equipment, as well as for its unique sound properties for musical instruments. There is a certain risk of confusion with the term rosewood, which is called palissandre in French, rosewood in English and jacarandá in Portuguese. The English term rosewood is almost always wrongly translated as "rosewood", but does not correspond to the German term rosewood, which designates a single species of rosewood, the so-called Bahia rosewood '(Dalbergia decipularis)'. The genus Jacaranda, in which there is also a so-called rosewood tree (blue-flowering jacaranda), is different from the genus Dalbergia and therefore has nothing to do with rosewood. Source Wikipedia Hue: unique nuance from orange to dark red-brown with almost black heartwood that runs through the surface as if painted. The shine on the photos or grayish or milky areas are due to exposure or lighting (reflections). The surfaces have a satin finish. Dimensions: W: 145cm; D: 73cm; H: 73cm Condition: Absolute madness! The desk is in excellent to new condition. It has been lovingly restored by the restorer using traditional and natural materials. This desk dwarfs just about anything we've seen in rosewood for depth, vibrancy and nuance over the years! It doesn't get any better than that!
