Large photo on Aluminium 125 x 100 THREE WHITE BIRDS by YANG BIN
2 mm thick acrylic glass on aluminum
Here the photographer masters the still life theme, which reached its peak with Flemish and Dutch painting in the Golden Age. Floral were one of the most widespread pictorial genres and were designed as symbolic reductions of the earthly world for the purpose of meditation. Yang Bin's photos also seem to have a hidden meaning. As suggested by their various elements (dried fruit, wilted flowers, butterflies), these images can perpetuate thoughts about the fragility of existence and the ephemeral nature of life on earth.
