WXYZ was born in 1980 and grew up in the east of Paris. She explored museums throughout her childhood. The artist performs a ritual: moving away from the Parisian whirlwind, the time of summer vacation, towards more space and silence. But “these large areas, strangely too green, made me nostalgic for the Grey of asphalt. The drive home was an intense moment. In the end, travel is animated by the ballet of neon lights, increasing in number as we approach home. The Faubourg Saint-Antoine, the original center of my worlds, has re-wrapped my existence. So many people and activities in such a small space: this neighborhood had to have a certain magic to be so crowded. All these shades of gray, dotted with colored signs with fixed or alternating lights, combined with the mobile red and yellow Lighting of the vehicles, could only be the result of a gigantic artistic composition orchestrated by the brotherhood of adults. “From perception it goes to creation. The way she looks at things is in the service of a sensitive creation. However, WXYZ uses not only her sensitivity but also her comprehension skills: she digs behind the first fairyland of this light ballet. She thus examines the depth of a rural vision and dismantles what is hidden: advertising and its vices. His critical eye is combined with a poetic eye for a political goal and a sensitive vision, and the alchemy works. The artist repeatedly exhibits in a Paris gallery. He owes his artistic awakening early on to observing wall inscriptions. Since 1996 he has painted many urban supports, mainly in the Paris region.
