The Vitra ETR Coffee Table is a design by Charles & Ray Eames. The table, which the Eames couple designed in 1951, owes its name to its oval shape and steel wire base. ETR is an abbreviation of 'Elliptical (E) Table (T) on a Rod (R) base'. The ETR Coffee Table is a follow-up to the LTR table that was released a year earlier. Just like the LTR, the ETR Coffee Table has a low base. The table was soon nicknamed the 'Surfboard Table', because the large elliptical shape that sits low to the ground is reminiscent of a surfboard.Minimal signs of use as visible in the photos, including a very light scratch, a very small dent on the top and one on the side of the top.
