This is a vintage Floor light from the Danish manufacturer Lyfa, an iconic example of mid-20th century lighting design. The piece is characterized by its striking retro aesthetic and the use of vibrant colors, typical of the period. It is a rare specimen, especially in such condition.
The lamp consists of a slender metal stand and a round, stable base, both finished in black. The large, conical shade is made of a yellow-orange plastic that diffuses a warm and atmospheric light when the lamp is on. The two-part construction of the shade creates a subtle layered effect. Lyfa is known for its high-quality and innovative designs, which played an important role in Danish design history.
The overall condition of the lamp is good, in accordance with its age and previous use. One white plastic fastening knob is missing from the edge of the shade (see photo), which is not noticeable, and on the top, three subtle symmetrical crack-like shapes can be seen – which are also not noticeable and almost seem as if they were intended.
It exhibits an authentic character that tells the story of its past. The original structure and the distinctive color of the shade have been well preserved, contributing to its vintage charm.
This Floor light is a distinctive accent piece that fits perfectly into an interior with retro, Space Age, or eclectic influences. Placed next to a sofa, armchair, or in a reading nook, it not only adds functional lighting but also a powerful stylistic statement.
