Vintage Danish AX chair (model 6020), designed in 1947 by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard Nielsen and then manufactured by the Danish company Fritz Hansen. This chair gave Fritz Hansen its international breakthrough. Founded in 1872 in Denmark, Fritz Hansen has a long history of successful collaborations with leading international designers. They are known for everything from furniture to lighting and accessories.
The chair has graceful armrests, where this continues into both the backrest and seat. The use of different woods (teak, beech and mahogany) creates a beautiful and harmonious whole. This armchair is in good condition. The seat has discoloration on the front. Also, the joints of the chair (bottom round slats) have been treated against woodworm.
