Statue made by Vera van Hasselt with the name 'Der Koehp va Hehle' The statue represents the Heerlen boy Jacobus and his adventures in Napoleon's army during the war in Spain (1808). In the 1970s, the famous Dutch sculptor Vera van Hasselt was commissioned to immortalize 'Der Koehp va Hehle' as a large statue in bronze. The municipality of Heerlen donated limited edition replicas of this statue to people who had done something important for the city. The dimensions of this shooter are 29 cm high (25 cm up to his cap) on a base of 9 by 8 cm. The last photo shows the original bronze statue which is located in Heerlen on the Pancratiusplein next to the Schelmentoren.
