Trees de Vries (1925-2013)
Around 1970 she moved from Haarlem to Burum in Friesland. Her farm in the middle of the meadow gave her the peace, space and inspiration to develop creatively. Trees is self-taught, member of De Ploeg and Fryske Kultuerried and registered with the RKD. As a textile artist she has designed gobelins. She exhibited with this at home and abroad. Around the 1990s, Trees focused on making graphics. She made a journey of discovery through the world of form and transformed the visible world into abstract figures, often unrecognizable to outsiders. The works are constructed in shades of gray and sometimes supplemented with sparing use of color. The etching is in good condition and is hand signed at the bottom. Edition 2/2. Dimensions: wide 23 cm, high 19 cm. The etching is in a sturdy passe-partout. Outside size 40x40 cm. Shipping costs are for the buyer. Pick-up in Hoofddorp is possible.
