Talking screen print by Kuijpers, from 1988. Is in excellent condition. Measures approx. 60h x 45w, including frame 91 h x 71w cm. Hand signed. Theo Kuijpers (Helmond, 1939) attended the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven. He did his military service from 1962 to 1963 in Suriname. Back in Brabant, he incorporated impressions of South America into his paintings. To this day, his work originates mostly according to that method: traveling (to Morocco, Australia, Italy, France, Iceland and many other countries); looking around; reproducing in form and color on canvas what remains in his head and heart as the essence of his impressions. Although over the years he has developed more and more into an abstract painter, he has remained a constructivist. Not only is his handwriting often reminiscent of architecture, by using tent canvas, rope and branches in addition to paint, he also shows himself to be a "builder" of paintings. Work by Theo Kuijpers is included in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven and private collectors at home and abroad, among others.
