I've been in contact with Sylvia Weve. She can't say for sure which magazine this work was made for, but it could very well be "Away". Biography: Weve was born in Utrecht but grew up in Roosendaal. In 1976 she completed her education at the Academy of Fine Arts Arnhem (graphic design department). She has lived in Amsterdam since 1978. Resume (From Wikipedia) After working for various newspapers and magazines, her first illustrated children's book, Een nom op school, was published in 1980. She has now illustrated more than two hundred mainly children's books and made countless drawings for, among others, de Volkskrant, Playboy, Opzij, Vrij Nederland, the Holland Festival and Milieudefensie. From 1986 to 1993 she was a teacher of illustrative design at the Academy of Fine Arts Arnhem. Kip en ei was published by Hillen in 2006, the first picture book for which Sylvia Weve also wrote the text. Logbook of hitherto unknown animals was published in 2018, for which she again provided both the text and the illustrations. Weve draws expressively, with a lot of speed and movement. In the early years she mainly drew with a blunt pen and Indian ink. Felt-tip pen was her main material for color use. Her approach changed with the advent of digital means. Since then she has built up her illustrations by combining digital and traditional techniques for each drawing. Sylvia Weve received international recognition for her illustrations in I teach you songs of desire, and hang on your at sign, for which Bette Westera wrote the lyrics. For her entire oeuvre, Weve was nominated by IBBY Netherlands for the ALMA, the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, for both 2018 and 2019. Her work has been awarded nationally throughout her career, including the 2019 Max Velthuijs Prize for her entire oeuvre.
