Susette van de lande

With her artworks she tells a fictional story. A balance in color and composition of what is presented is paramount in the representation. But there is more. Van de Lande wants to prevent her works from becoming predictable in appearance and composition. "That's why I deliberately add a dissonant note to the image," she says. Without the performance losing harmony or credibility, the tension between the forms is thus heightened. A meaning thus suddenly takes a different turn. It is therefore always a pleasant experience for the viewer to look at her work.
