Product description
Beautiful set of four vintage dining chairs from the 1970s, made of wengé wood with bridle leather seats. The designer and manufacturer are unfortunately unknown, but the design shows clear similarities with the work of Michel Arnoult, who designed innovative furniture in Brazil in the 1950s and 1960s. The chairs are presumably of Dutch origin.
This set comes from Abbekerk and has been carefully restored. The wengé wooden frames have been thoroughly cleaned and re-nourished, bringing out the deep, dark brown color and the characteristic, pronounced wood grain beautifully again. The original cognac-colored bridle leather seats are still in good condition and have been deliberately preserved. The leather has developed a particularly beautiful patina through decades of use, with warm color nuances and subtle signs of wear that give each chair its own character.
The design is characterized by a clear, geometric construction with straight, cylindrical legs and an open backrest, built from two slightly curved wooden slats. The cantilevered bridle leather seats form a beautiful contrast with the dark wengé wood and give the chairs a warm, characteristic appearance. Due to their open construction, they also maintain a strikingly light and understated design.
The slightly springy leather seats and curved backrests ensure pleasant seating comfort. A characteristic set of mid-century dining chairs, in which the dark wengé wood and the beautifully patinated bridle leather complement each other wonderfully. Carefully restored and ready for years of use.
