This is a beautiful set of eight wine glasses, designed by the Finnish design legend Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala. These glasses are a perfect example of his fascination with the nature of Lapland, which is reflected in their iconic design.
The set consists of 4 glasses for white or red wine, 14.5 cm, capacity 180 ml, and 4 glasses for, for example, port/sherry, sparkling wine or a dessert wine, 13 cm, capacity 125 ml.
The glasses are made of clear, high-quality glass and have a distinctive, heavy base. Inside each base, an air bubble is trapped, a technique Wirkkala perfected, giving the glasses a unique, almost magical appearance. This set is a classic of Finnish glassware and a testament to timeless design.
The set is in exceptionally good condition and appears hardly used. Only minimal signs of wear. See photos. A special detail is that the original red Iittala stickers are still present on all eight glasses, confirming their authenticity and careful preservation. They are ready to add a touch of Scandinavian elegance to your table, whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a good glass of wine.
