The cassette has some light signs of age (some wear spots) Roger Henri Kamiel knight Raveel (Machelen-aan de Leie, July 15, 1921 – Deinze, January 30, 2013) was a Flemish post-expressionist painter and maker of ceramics and art objects. Although his work cannot easily be categorized into one of the well-known art movements, it is considered to be related to pop art. Raveel received his first academic training from Hubert Malfait (1898-1971) in Deinze from 1933 to 1937 and, as a free student, from 1940 to 1941. He continued this education from 1942 to 1945 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. Here too he was taught by Hubert Malfait, who introduced him to the technique of Frans Hals and Rubens. Raveel learned to put things into perspective from another teacher, Jos Verdegem, who spoke words of praise for his work. Raveel himself thought that his first mentor was actually the Italian painter, sculptor and architect Giotto (1267-1337). Raveel taught himself at the Deinze Academy from 1960 to 1973. In 1995 Raveel was ennobled as a knight.
