Rare and singular document. This official program of the National Congress of Pharmacists of France, held in Lyon in 1951 (MCMLI), is an exceptional testament to the professional and cultural life of post-war Lyon. The large-format paperback brings together the official elements of the congress, period institutional advertisements, and literary contributions. It notably features advertisements from the Lyon Pharmacists' Purchasing Cooperative and the Parisian Society for Chemical Expansion, Specia Rhone-Poulenc brands, testifying to the French pharmaceutical industrial fabric of the era. A poem by Claude Boncompain, a Lyonnais poet, appears in the interior pages, evoking Lyon, the Saône river, and the city's nights. The copy also contains an extremely rare document glued inside. A membership form for the Lyon Pharmacy Society, adorned with an old engraved vignette depicting an allegorical landscape with a pharmaceutical emblem, filled out in ink and signed by the President, the Secretary, and the Secretary-General. Unique composite piece. Large-format paperback, white cardboard cover, black and red two-color typography. Condition. Cover stained and creased, corners worn.
