Robert Goossens (1927-2016) was a designer and goldsmith trained at Cartier's Atelier.
He became an independent craftsman in the 1950s, where he began designing and manufacturing jewelry for Coco Chanel.
He also worked for other well-known fashion brands, such as Hermes, Dior, and Balenciaga.
For Coco Chanel's apartment, he also designed furniture, mirrors, chandeliers, etc.
He created an amazing language of forms that impressed the decorative arts of the 1960s and 1970s, such as this table with ears of corn, a recurring pattern that was much appreciated by Coco Chanel.
Many of his designs were marketed by Maison Baguès.
He eventually sold his company and Paris boutique to Chanel in 2005.
