Sans Titre, Pol Bury, Gouache on rice paper, 40 x 50 cm, Beautifully framed, frame 50 x 57 cm
The Belgian artist Pol Bury (1922-2005) was one of the founders of kinetic art. He started his career as a painter and saw Magritte as his great example. He later joined the art movements Jeune Peinture belge and CoBrA, and then took a new path. He became fascinated by the work of Alexander Calder and focused on sculpture, with movement as a common thread throughout his oeuvre. Thanks to the highly personal character of his work – based on surrealism but always very innovative – Pol Bury was held in high esteem in the Paris and New York art world, resulting in international recognition. The painting is in good condition
