About the Photographer
Piergiorgio Branzi is an Italian journalist and photographer, born in Signa in 1928 and raised in Florence. He began photography in the 1950s and traveled extensively throughout Italy, particularly in the south. Like many iconic photographers of the time, Piergiorgio Branzi is adept at the art of combining a flair for poetry with a love of detail. His works have earned him great acclaim in Italy and abroad. His work has been exhibited in famous museums such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris and the Tate Gallery in London.
