Losing one's Photos.
Photos Paul de Nooijer
Design: Hendrik Barends
1981
750 of this book were made. This is number 716.
This artist's book Losing Ones Head (Eindhoven Aarts 1978) should consist of a collection of colored black-and-white photos and Polaroids of absurdist domestic scenes, which, as can be seen from the list at the back, have already been sold to private individuals and museums. Those photos should have been on separate pages, but are missing.
De Nooijer gave a humorous twist to the conceptual rigor of artists' books from the 1970s.
But it does contain four sheets with a real photo printed on luxury paper. A total of 6 photos. Central to his photos is said to be the sexual tension between man and woman, as it plays out in the living room.
The most unique part of the book is a hand-numbered Vintage photo: Silver Gelatin Print, (216/250).
Size 24x17.5 cm.Condition: cover of the folder, which contains everything, is discolored at the edges. The actual book and certainly the photos are in very good condition!
