The Moooi Dear Ingo Hanging Lamp is a design by the Israeli designer Ron Gilad. Gilad's designs straddle the fascinating line between abstract and functional and Dear Ingo is a spectacular example of this. The basic principle of Ingo is inspired by the traditional metal desk lamp, which, under Gilad's reckless vision, transforms into a sixteen-armed chandelier with mechanical magic.
The Dear Ingo is just as adjustable as a regular desk lamp with its sixteen adjustable lampshades made of powder-coated steel. The fittings are E27 and are suitable for light sources of up to 60 Watts.
The lamp can grow from 80 cm to a diameter of 240 cm.
The Dear Ingo from Mooi has such an unconventionally efficient design that she has now officially become a permanent part of the Art Institution of Chicago's collection.
