Greaves & Thomas operated as a furniture manufacturer headquartered in Clapton, London, within the London Borough of Hackney, spanning from 1911 to 1965. Their operations were centred at the now-closed Amherst works on Northwold Road, eventually merging with Schreiber Furniture in 1967. Notably, their furniture designs from the 1960s echoed the aesthetic of contemporary Danish modernist designers, characterized by sleek geometries, teak wood, tapered legs, and plush fabrics. Among their innovations is the renowned Put-U-Up settee-bed, highly coveted today.
