The Martinelli Luce Serpente Floor Lamp is a contemporary design by Elio Martinelli. The floor lamp from 1965 is an eye-catcher for any interior. The design is identical in shape and movement to the Serpente Table Lamp. Turn the swiveling upper arm 180 degrees and the lamp has a snake-like appearance. The name 'Serpente', or snake in Italian, refers to the twisted position of the lighting object.
The aesthetic and functional design is particularly suitable as an atmosphere creator in the living room and at the same time practical as a lighting object for illuminating all creations in a home studio. Martinelli's inspiration and innovative search have led him to create this simplistic design that lives.
The special choice of materials is unique to the lamp. In addition to metal, the Serpente Floor Lamp is made of methyl acrylate for the swiveling upper arm and diffuser. Methyl acrylate was new at the time and determined both Martinelli's and the general Italian design success. Nowadays, methyl acrylate design is typical of the 1960s. These times are relived with the Serpente Floor Lamp.
The floor lamp has a height of 120 centimeters and a diameter of 55 centimeters. The design is available in white with an E27 fitting (max. 15W, 3000 Kelvin, 1450 lumen). The lamp can be operated via an on/off switch on the power cable, but dimming is not possible. In addition to the Serpente Floor Lamp, the Serpente Table Lamp is available from MisterDesign.There are some small scratches visible on the base and the shade of the lamp (signs of use), consistent with age.
