About the artist:
Marcela Perrusquía is a multidisciplinary artist based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She was born in Queretaro, Mexico where she studied Fine Arts at the Autonomous University of Queretaro. In her art, she intends to capture the essence of what it means to be human and how we fit into society. She believes art reflects the society we live in, which brings us the chance to engage with pressing individual but also collective issues, urging us toward collaborative efforts for change. By exploring the intersection between surreal and real worlds, she challenges the notion of reality(ies). She hopes her artworks stimulate thought and encourage personal interpretations, facilitating opportunities for learning and emotional resonance. As an artist and curator she participated in and organised multiple exhibitions and art events in the Netherlands and Mexico.
