Gelderland 400 Retro Swivel Armchair – Jan Des Bouvrie – Anniversary Edition
Beautiful Gelderland 400 Retro swivel armchair, designed by Jan des Bouvrie.
The original model 400 dates from 1979. To mark Gelderland's 80th anniversary, the armchair was re-released in 2016 as the 400 Retro, with the original design improved with, among other things, a more slender tubular frame and a renewed swivel base.
This piece was purchased new by my father in 2017. Unfortunately, he passed away before the armchair was delivered to him. I subsequently inherited the chair, but have hardly ever sat in it myself. The armchair is therefore in excellent, exceptionally little-used condition.
Original red fabric upholstery, polished metal frame and swivel base. Equipped with the original Gelderland label. Swivel mechanism functions excellently.
A Dutch design classic in particularly beautiful condition.
