I have gradually become familiar with my fascination with trees, I call them portraits of trees. Visible in the shape is what happened in the life of the tree.
Growing happily freely, reaching for the sky, but also ravaged, bent by the wind, torn off, sawn and chopped, with growing seasons and always a home for birds and insects. Trees live in a different time zone with ages far beyond ours. What we are experiencing is a flash in time for trees.
And there they stand, silent it seems.
