Harry Maas (1906-1982)
Dimensions work: 100 x 75 cm
Provenance: from a Dutch private collection
The Eindhoven artist Harry Maas painted in a somewhat French impressionist style. His fluent touch and cheerful, bright use of color exude the joy of painting. Maas's preference was to depict landscapes. In addition, he painted provocative young ladies in various stages of undress. In his time, this subject was considered "on the edge"; now these paintings give a fine picture of the times. Besides the above genre, landscapes, theater scenes and portraits, Harry Maas also painted scenes in which old steam locomotives and streetcars take a central place.
Viewing is of course possible. We also have our own in-house frame shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. We also make use of restorers from the branch organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of them, please let us know.
