The work "FLINDERS" is part of the "Babel" project. The text accompanying the sculpture refers to the impossibility of capturing man's lively spirit with words. (See also website) The accompanying text is: A butterfly you do not catch in a net of words. The work comes with a certificate stating that only 1 copy of the work has been made and will not be made again. For a true seeker that is not important. What is found leads to the next question, using everything that has been found before as a motive. I mentored editors, trained inventors and advised entrepreneurs and was an entrepreneur myself. I was a psychotherapist and author of "Glad You Doubt." Now I explore the possibilities of digital creation, modern printing techniques and new materials. But not without also asking a deeper question: our rational thinking helps people move forward, but to where? Besides my interesting jobs, I have never been bored. Creative freedom began early on. From the age of 15, I played double bass in jazz formations. That brought me insight into timbre and improvisation. Later -in France- I worked with photo ceramics because the glazes give such beautiful intense colors. Glass slumping and fusing has long been another "hot" subject. In Arizona, I made some interesting bronzes. Now, retired, I live on one of the beautiful islands of Zeeland. Developing my own style of sculpture has become my passion, new interesting techniques with new results. My hearing made the double bass mostly decorative; now I develop new compositions in sculpture form. Creativity and passion just keep going! Until the Covid period I exhibited regularly 2019 - Industriemuseum Hattingen (DE) - Water lance church - St Bavo's Aardenburg - Steenfabriek Gilze Rijen - Haagse Kunstkring 2018 - St Bavo's Aardenburg - Galerie Lokaal 54 Terneuzen - Galerie Rattekaai Rilland Bath 2017 - Industriemuseum Enneppetal (DE) - Kunstverrein Enneppetal (DE) - Galerie Lokaal 54 Terneuzen - Kunstblik Goeree Overflakkee - Stadhuismuseum Zierikzee 2016 - Vleeshal Middelburg - Hofstede's Gravenhoek Wissekerke - and many other exhibitions Specifications Condition Excellent Colors Turquoise, Blue, Beige, Multi Color, Orange, Yellow, Black Material Aluminum Number of items 1 Height 135 cm Width 45 cm Specifications Product description title: FLINDER technique: digital creation material: hot-pressed aluminum mounted on black wooden frame artist Hans Oosterom
