This original vintage Norwegian ergonomic design balance kneeling chair dates from 1980 or slightly earlier. The designers are Svein Gusrud and Hans Christian Mengshoel and the manufacturer is Håg A/S from Oslo in Norway. Norwegian patent number 79.1446, Norwegian design patent 60,665.
A similar example of this designer chair can be found in the Norwegian National Museum Samling (Stichting Museum Kunstnijverheid, Design Collections) in Oslo.
Original seat with a black filled (foam rubber) velor upholstery (seat and knee cushion) in original intact condition, curved chrome-plated steel base. There is a zipper in the knee cushion.
By supporting your knees and lower legs, your hip gets a greater angle, so that your lower back is not pressed backwards.
