Before Frattini founded his own studio in the mid-fifties, the famous Gio Ponti was his teacher and mentor. This was followed by a fruitful collaboration with numerous renowned manufacturers such as Bernini, Arteluce, Acerbis, Fantoni, Artemide and Knoll. Frattini was honored for his designs with the Compasso d'Oro, among others. His work is part of the permanent exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art and the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum (both in New York).
