Besides being an artist, he is founder and director of Nest, a platform for contemporary art in The Hague. He seeks dialogue with artists, trying to make connections with diverse artistic statements. He is also an advisor to the Mondriaan Fund and the Matriaal Fund. Van der Lingen received his master's degree in Digital Arts from Middlesex University in London after completing the Fine Arts program at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
