Under the name Maisa, Derk Jan de Vries designed furniture in the 1960s and 1970s in Italy, where he now lived, with the characteristic style icon on the corners of the chest of drawers. See the detail in one of the photos. In the Netherlands it was sold at the time at a limited number of selected sales addresses.
The chest of drawers was purchased in 1976 and has been in our possession for 46 years. We liked the entire design oeuvre of Derk Jan de Vries so much, because of the timeless design, that several pieces of furniture were purchased.
