A true Danish design icon; the 'PH5' pendant lamp designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 and manufactured by Louis Poulsen. The model name incorporates the designer's initials (PH) as well as a reference to the diameter (50 cm). This lamp, which only won an iF Design award in 1971, is based on the principle of a reflective multiple screen system, which creates harmonious and 100% glare-free lighting. The lamp is in very nice vintage condition with virtually no signs of use. Furthermore, the manufacturer's sticker is still present inside as a sign of authenticity. Poul Henningsen was a Danish writer, critic, architect and designer. He is often cited as the first true lighting architect because he devoted much of his life to exploring the importance of light for well-being. He concentrated on creating lamps that produced non-glare lighting. His best-known lamp models are the PH Artichoke, the PH 5 and the PH Contrast lamp.
