Etching by the famous artist Constant, titled The Execution. Signed and numbered in pencil by the maker. The image is 13.5 x 12 cm, the sheet of handmade paper is 65 x 80 cm. The etching is in mint condition, the sheet shows light signs of use on the edges. Constant Nieuwenhuys (Amsterdam 1920 – Utrecht 2005) was a Dutch visual artist, author and musician. He was a leading member of the Cobra art movement, which also included Alechinsky, Karel Appel, Corneille and Arger Jorn (see this lithograph Constant dedicated to Jorn). Constant is seen by many as the intellectual engine of this movement. Constant was not only a painter, but also a designer of visionary architecture, which he presented under the title ' New Babylon'.
