About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is the iconic LC2 3-seater sofa, a masterpiece by Cassina, designed by the legendary trio Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand. The design, often described as a 'cushion basket', is instantly recognizable and one of the most influential pieces of furniture of the 20th century. The sofa features an external frame of glossy chrome-plated steel that encloses the thick, white leather-upholstered cushions. This construction was revolutionary for its time, separating the frame from the upholstery, a hallmark of the modernist movement. This piece is an authentic, Cassina-produced item, as evidenced by the engraving in the frame. The sofa is in good, used condition, and the leather has developed a characteristic, soft texture that comes with furniture of this age. It is a timeless piece that effortlessly fits into both modern and eclectic interiors, bringing a touch of design history into the home.
