Exceptional vintage Sphere lounge armchair, designed by French designer Boris Tabacoff for Mobilier Modulaire Moderne (MMM) in France, around 1971.
The Sphere is a characteristic example of French Space Age design from the 1970s. The transparent, sculptural plexiglass shell is supported by a chrome-plated metal frame with the distinctive round base. The combination of plexiglass, chrome, and the low, round shape gives the armchair its recognizable futuristic appearance.
The cushion has been reupholstered with high-quality genuine white leather. This creates a beautiful contrast with the transparent shell and the chrome-plated base. Details

The armchair is in good vintage condition, commensurate with its age and use.
The cushion has been reupholstered with high-quality genuine white leather and is in very neat condition.
The transparent plexiglass shell is in good condition. The chrome plating on the underside of the base is locally damaged due to normal use. This concerns superficial wear and tear on the finish and does not affect the sturdiness or usability of the armchair.
Given its age of approximately 55 years, light signs of use are present. Please view the photos for a good impression of the exact condition.
