The Arco Slim Table is a design by Bertjan Pot. For the company's 100th anniversary, Arco asked 12 designers to create something that would usher the company into the next century. Bertjan wanted to design something that had never been done before, something impossible. But that was no easy task. He noticed that many wooden furniture from the Arco collection is supported with metal. Metal forms the base, which is then 'clad' with wood. This gave him the idea to make the Slim Table, which is also built according to this principle. A table with a top that is so slim and rests on legs that are only 2.8 centimeters wide. It appears to be on the brink of collapse – and therefore impossible – but stands proudly thanks to its metal construction.
The minimalistic and elegant Slim is made of black oak veneer and finished with a matte project lacquer.
