Beautiful curio mid 20th century, Budapest Hungary
This is an elegant and stylish, made prior to 1948, Aquincum Budapest porcelain, female nude. Fully white, not painted. Her hands reach up to apply the hair ornament. The sculpture is from the Aquincum Porcelain Factory of Budapest, Hungary. Founded in 1854 by Tivadar Hüttl. Until 1948 the sculptures were marked with the blue eagle and Budapest. The porcelain sculptures are famous for their design and their beauty. The sculptures are also collector’s items.
This figurine is in excellent condition. At the bottom, the statue is marked with the blue eagle known to connoisseurs, the name of the factory and the city of Budapest. The sculpture is 15cm tall and approx 10 cm wide
