Beautiful finished belly cabinet / secretaire.
The secretaire is made of mahogany and have a root wood veneer finish. Behind the flap of the cabinet are 2x4 drawers, 2x2 compartments, in the middle a cabinet with sliding hatch to a secret compartment.
The flap can rest on two sliding wooden supports. Under the flap there are three large wide drawers. There are brass fittings on the drawers and lid. The secretaire stands on beautifully carved lion legs. Also these legs can be opened (by removing a brass pin on the inside behind the flap) have hidden drawers.
Dimensions: (h x w x d) 104 x 80 x 50 cm, when the lid is open it is also 80 cm deep.
Condition: In good condition for a 19th century desk and the secretaire has been in the family for 100yrs.
There is a ring of probably flower pot on it and scratches around the legs.The secretary has been in my grandparents' house, my parents' house and now in mine and was and is also an article of use. Due to lack of space we unfortunately have to part with it.
