The artist who is constantly pushing new boundaries does not make it easy for himself. But the work that results from this always shows new developments and is never boring; it is like the trail left behind by an explorer. Anna Verrijt keeps the tension going.
Anna Verrijt builds her work from many transparent layers, all of which remain more or less visible. It often has to endure a lot: Verrijt scratches and scrapes away the paint with a knife, or she rigorously applies the sander to it. All those traces remain visible, and the history of its creation can be read from each painting.
Any damage and imperfections visible in the photos are part of the description. In the event of shipment, Art Dumay reserves the right and option to remove the glass so that proper shipment can be guaranteed at all times.
