RARE, no longer for sale!! From the year 2008. Mago Sterlino, the WIZARD was designed by LPWK and Marcello Jori,. It is a beautiful cobalt blue statue with a yellow star cloak and hat, its face is very lively and the wizard has a long beard, pink cheeks and a pointed nose. A nice addition to the Alessi Christmas figures and will immediately put a smile on your face. The Christmas figures are made of porcelain and painted by hand. Unfortunately, the original packaging is no longer included. "The figurines were developed in view of the idea of objects conceived as entities possessing a soul" It is difficult to define that I met Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori , two very different artists in terms of language, work, personality... I certainly could not have done it on a strictly professional basis and what I have with them over the years built up is a very complete and rewarding association, especially on a personal and human level. When I think of these two designers now, I think of two friends with whom I shared important projects and formative experiences, to the point that at some point in our collaboration we founded “JPG”. Our joint work began at different times and on different research projects. However, in the new millennium we worked on the same subject: a collection of small figurines to be made in porcelain. The idea of a 'Figurines' collection emerged from an important line of research for me, which had driven my work, that of the fetish object, since the early years of my collaboration with Alessi . The 'Figurines' were developed as part of a new project that focuses on the idea of objects conceived as entities possessing a soul. Accustomed to the freedom that comic books offer, in which the artist works alone and in total autonomy, creating the characters and determining their fate, I suggested to Massimo Giacon that he approach design by treating objects as if they were elements of a story. Marcello Jori approached the field of design from a completely different perspective: his roots in the art world. For Jori, design offered the opportunity to achieve what painting and writing did not allow: 'useful art', as he came to define it. Objects that can serve to change people's mood, cheer up their mood, make them laugh. “Pinocchino”, “Topolone”, “Marzio”, “Mago Sterlino”, “Rudy and Sventola””… these are some of the “Statues” he created: benevolent, poetic presences that are a bit magical, ready to gently enter our homes. In 2006, the first “Figurines” designed with Jori were ready, followed a year later by the figures created with Giacon: a series of characters that generated micro-stories related to Christmas. Since then, we have gathered often to discuss ideas, characters and new creatures, each in their own way bringing little stories to guide us in our daily lives.
