From the series of vases by A.D. Copier a triangular vase marked. The vase is in excellent condition, no chips off and no dents either. About Andries Dirk Copier (1901-1991): Copier is considered one of the most important Dutch glass artists of the 20th century. During his career, Copier was able to apply the latest technical developments in personal, contemporary designs. Early in his career, he was appointed a designer at the Leerdam Glasfabriek, where he was given room to experiment. Together with his team, he discovered an endless array of new techniques for both utility glass and Unica, such as tin crackle, enamel powders, ribs and bubbles. His designs for utility glass, such as the guild glass, are still in production today. With his Unicas, Copier became internationally known. Introduced in 1925 as "Leerdam Unica," these experimental glass objects are considered precursors to the studio glass movement and showcase glass as an art form.See photos.
