The chairs were designed by renowned architect and designer Mart Stam in 1970, an important figure in the Bauhaus movement. Stam's minimalist approach to design is evident in the clean lines and streamlined silhouette of these chairs. Manufactured in Italy by renowned brand Matteo Grassi, these chairs have a sturdy chrome-plated metal frame that ensures durability and longevity. The black leather upholstery adds a touch of luxury to the design, making these chairs both comfortable and stylish. It is worth noting that only the true early Matteo Grassi chairs have a vertical print on the left side of the backrest, attesting to the authenticity and quality of the chair. The later version of the chair has a horizontal imprint in the middle of the back.
These particular chairs were used in a high-end restaurant in the old PASTOE factory in Utrecht, contributing to their unique and glorious history.
