Apeldoorn, NetherlandsView all items from this sellerThis set of 6 dining chairs 'Totus SM10' were designed in 1993 by Dutch designers Mazairac and Boonzaaijer for Hennie de Jong. The chairs have a postmodern look in aluminum and natural leather. They are sturdy and comfortable. Generally they are in good condition with no missing parts or damage, but they do have signs of use. We are the first owners. Seat height is 45 cm and seat depth is 43 cm.

After his training at the Artibus academy in Utrecht, Pierre Mazairac worked for various employers as a stylist and interior designer. In 1972 he joined furniture factory UMS-Pastoe in Utrecht. In 1980, together with Karel Boonzaadjer, he started his own design agency in Zeist, Mazairac and Boonzaaijer & partners. Later the design firm was called Mazairac Boonzaaijer and Van Tellingen & partners. It specialized in industrial design with a focus on furniture design and had a separate section dedicated to architecture. Clients were major national and international manufacturers, including Pastoe, Hennie de Jong, Leolux, Metaform, Castelijn, Arco, Agape, IKEA. The partnership ended in 1995.
Mazairac and Boonzaajer are ironclad in the field of dining chairs and tables. The 'Circle' chairs, produced by Metaform, and the 'SM01 and SM10, designed for Hennie de Jong, are products that were a great success. They also designed for Castelijn, Arco and others.
The seat height is 45 cm, the seat depth is 43 cm. The weight is about 9 kg per chair.We are the first owners, the chairs have always been in the dining room with us. There is no smoking here. The leather has darkened with time, it can be rubbed with leather grease, making it more even and dark. One chair has had several inches of stitching repaired, a photo of which is attached. The original slide feet were fragile and we have replaced them.
