These plates are glazed in a green spring color with a speckled glaze in ecru soft yellow-green. Each plate holds 12 snails and the depth allows for the addition of a nice amount of garlic oil. There is some variation in the color of the plates due to the manufacturing process. This is quite normal.
Of course, these plates are also suitable for other dishes such as eggs and they are oven safe.

Herewith I offer a set of 6 escargot plates, brand Faïencerie de Gien, France.
Material: porcelain/earthenware according to Gien process.
Suitable for 12 escargot snails.
Condition: as new.
Period: before 2000.
Marked: Porcelaine Gien France on back of each plate.
Dimensions: 21.3 cm x 19.5 cm. Height 3cm.
Quality: 3x fired in oven at a temp. of 1145°C, so oven proof.
