About the Designer
Starck followed design training from the 1960s. In 1965 he won the furniture competition La Villette and in 1968 founded his first design agency, specializing in inflatable objects. In 1969 he was partnered with Pierre Cardin. with company director. Starck has been working as an independent interior decorator and industrial designer since 1975. One of Starck's best-known designs is the Louie Ghost armchairs.
About the Design
The pompous zeitgeist of the Louis XV era inspired designer Philippe Starck in the design of the Louis Ghost armchair. The modern polycarbonate chair is a surprisingly wild homage to the Baroque style. Despite its fragile appearance, the Louis Ghost chair is extremely robust, shock-resistant and durable.
